At Selden Farm, we offer ‘Back to Basics’ camping just like you remember as a kid! Unforgettable, cosy nights under the stars! (But with the benefit of a well-equipped, clean, toilet and shower area!)
If your dream is to camp in an open field, under the stars, with the glow from your campfire outside your tent, sitting back in your camp chair to watch the night sky on a clear night with a cider or beer in your hand, then this is the campsite for you.
Wake up naturally to the dawn chorus, catch a glimpse of the Fallow and Roe deer, which abound in the neighbouring 6700 acre Angmering Park Estate (look out for the albino, white one) grazing on our fields, relax around the campfire at the end of a busy day. Come to Selden Farm to camp and as you relax and explore our special part of West Sussex you’ll leave wanting to come back again and again.
This is the perfect location for those who are looking for a beach holiday as we are just 4 miles from the coast with Littlehampton and Worthing only moments away. From Selden Camping there is also easy access to explore West Sussex from Brighton to Chichester including Arundel, Pulborough and Storrington as we are in the South Downs National Park by way of the South Downs Way and the Monarchs Way, both walking and cycling routes of great interest.
It’s a good idea to reserve your plot for the summer season because we tend to fill up with bookings early on.
Camp in an open field, under the stars, with the glow from your campfire!
Selden Camping Meadow
SELDEN CAMPING MEADOW – CAR FREE
Selden Campsite is a peaceful, tents only campsite for nature lovers, real campers and their families. Our meadow camping pitches, are large and come with their own camp fire pit, with close-by flush toilets and free hot showers. We keep the campsite free from cars, but happily embrace the need for great toilets and shower facilities.
Our meadow site is around ½ acre in size.
Wildlife such as deer, rabbits, pheasant, etc do share the field with our campers and when quiet enough, may come in during the dark hours.
Each camping plot is around 6 meters in diameter and close mown for your tent and groundsheet.
We believe that CAMP FIRES are part and parcel of a great camping experience and, provided sensible precautions are observed, are a pleasure for all.
For families, there is plenty of room for children to run and play in the camping field. Children are most welcome to visit the farm animals, we will show you around. Being in the South Downs National Park which is a Dark Skies Reserve, there is very little light pollution. Spend a while just losing yourself in the marvel of the milky way!
We believe campfires are part of the great camping experience!
